HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY to our sweet gorilla dog, Walter! We are so unbelievably lucky that he came into our lives 14 months ago. He has come so far and has taught us so much about patience and unconditional love.
We were a little disapointed to find out last night that our friends Shannon & Erik from Chicago were not going to be able to make their originally scheduled trip to Greenville due to some concerns about Erik’s work and the affects that Hurricane Irene would have on it. But since Friday night was now open, we had a little impromptu “Birthday Party” for Walter 🙂
We got this cake from Barkery Bistro, which is the cutest pet store in Downtown Greenville owned by the amazing Megan, who we adore. And since Barkery Bistro tried a new cake supplier for Walter’s cake and Megan was super unhappy with the way it came out (apparently it was nothing like the sample pictures), she gave us the cake for FREE! I told her not to worry because Ernie turns 2 next week and we are thinking of ordering “pupcakes” for his party 😉
The boys loved the cake! And even though their friends Riley and Cooper couldn’t come over to the party, they got leftovers later tonight!
There was also another special birthday to celebrate this week! Our friend Kahreem turned 30 on Thursday so we enjoyed dinner and drinks at Nantucket with a great group of friends.
And it wasn’t my birthday, but it might as well have been because Alicia and I got pedicures…
AND I had some great presents arrive in the mail!
Gu in bulk? Woohoo! And for $1 a piece for Tri-Berry & Lemon-Lime and just under $2 a piece for Pineapple Roctane…I scored! (ordered from Foot Locker with only $3 for shipping to a local store)
And…my new sunglasses are here! That little rugrat, Ernie, decided to make a chew toy out of my last pair of riding glasses so I had to make a decision to get them fixed or order new ones.
And since I just might just have an absolutely awesome discount code (up to 75% off!!!) to order from the awesome Kaenon it made more sense to order new ones than to pay $150 to get them fixed. And if you do the math on how much a new pair of white pearl Soft Kores are, you will understand how amazing that discount code actually is!! And I would probably share it if I someone emailed and asked politely 🙂
If you haven’t heard of Kaenon, you probably aren’t alone, but I love their glasses. The quality is comparable to Oakley, Maui Jim, etc. but they are positioning themselves to a “young, active” market. I am pretty rough on sunglasses and these lenses don’t scratch and the frames don’t break!
Off to get some sleep for tomorrow’s big race!
